The World Health Organization has developed two formulas for hand sanitizers. They are alcohol based:

Formulation 1 - 80% ethanol

Formulation 2 - 75% isopropyl

The benefit of these formulas is that they are a low cost, easily accessible and fast acting solution.

Unlike gels and foams, they can be poured or sprayed just about anywhere.

And, because they act fast and dry fast, people are more likely to use the recommended amount so they can continue on with their routine with as little interruption as possible.

*ethanol based sanitizer makes no claims for use on surfaces
